In early May, Beverley, my wife introduced Adrian to a potential vendor who intended moving into a Retirement Village, mainly due to substantial health issues. We hadn’t done previous business with Adrian although we had been to Open Homes and he also has done an appraisal on our home. We liked his “style” of approachability, professionalism and the consistent but non-intrusive manner in which he kept in touch with us.
When it came to selecting a Real Estate Agency for marketing of the above vendor’s property, Bev’s friend asked for our advice and support as we had both been in Real Estate in bygone times, (Gisborne in the 80’s for us both) and myself in Napier in the early 90’s as Manager of Williams and Kettle (Real Estate Division).
We know others in the industry, but we’re in no doubt that Adrian would be “just the person” and accordingly introduced him to C and J of Busby Hill, Havelock North. It was a major exercise for both parties as Cherry is a semi-invalid and the house was bulging with memorabilia and hoarded items and materials from Cherry’s past times of weaving, craft, dress making, knitting, art etc. During the marketing process John was absent overseas on a pre-arranged holiday, so much of the communicating was done through Bev and myself.
Adrian handled the situation magnificently with efficiency, energy and sensitivity. The outcome resulted in a sale, move in the Retirement Village and peace and satisfaction and security for the Vendors.
A couple of months later, in June, we were hit with the shattering news that our daughter and son-in-law has to sell their home because their Bank was about to foreclose on the Mortgage, following the failure of a business venture our son-in-law has bought into a couple of years earlier. It was a very stressful and anxious time and again we approached Adrian, explained the background and asked if he would be able to assist. Naturally he did so, but in this instance there was the pressure of time constraints, confidentiality and sensitivity. A realistic sale price was also important to our family members, for obvious reasons and after fairly minimal feedback, initially, Adrian was able to “come up trumps”. Again he was re-assuring, (without being over-confident), discreet and an effective negotiator in another positive outcome.
Adrian had asked us to respond to a Property Brokers survey, online, recording our comments about his service and effectiveness, but being “techno phobes” we couldn’t bring it up on our computer, or delected it accidentally.
Hence this letter which I feel will express our sentiments and heart-felt appreciation to Adrian, for more than a brief survey.
Our thanks are extended beyond one salesperson who has done two fantastic jobs for friends and family, to the wider Property Brokers management and systems. We have been very impressed with our dealings with your organisation.
Yours sincerely,
Richard and Bev (Havelock North)
